Through a J.V. agreement signed in June 2009, OXEM and Wilmar Oleo give life to Oxem-Oleo s.r.l., a 50/50 NewCo dedicated to the commercialisation of biodiesel in Italy.
Wilmar Oleo is part of Wilmar International, Asia’s leading agribusiness group and the largest global producer and processor of palm oil, employing more than 70,000 people in 20 countries. The Wilmar Group, listed in Singapore, has more than 500,000 hectares of oil palm plantations and over 1 million tons per year production capacity of Palm Methyl Ester.
The NewCo, thanks to the synergies between OXEM and Wilmar, has thus preferential access to cost effective biodiesel procured worldwide and can easily approach the entire Italian market, including all coastal refineries.
